There’s a week until school starts, and things are coming along nicely.  I’ve been gathering more books for our classroom library and getting materials and plans ready for the school year.  It’s been a great summer, and I’m excited to get back into the classroom.

Some things that we have coming this year include

– using Wikis and Blogs to write about books

– lots of creative writing

– combined reading and writing grades into one grade, Communications

– more fun and games, and more movement and engagement

We’re also working on minor changes to the schedule that will allow more flexible grouping, more chances to work with students one-on-one, and more benefit to students.

I’m looking for more feedback from students and parents, as well, to help design more meaningful and useful learning opportunities.  Please let me know if you have a suggestion, an idea, or if you have a question about something.
